Wanda Barnett, age 88, of Portland passed away Sunday December 5, 2021 in IU Jay County Hospital. She was born in Union City on November 13, 1933 the daughter of Chancey and Ina (Rouch) Morehous. She was married on May 15, 1954 to Robert L. Barnett and he passed away on May 9, 2004. Wanda was a homemaker and had worked at Display Craft, Ballistran and in nursing homes. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Jayland Antique Car Club and was a Madison High School graduate.

Surviving are two sons Steve Barnett (wife Deb) of Portland and Mark Barnett (wife Lisa) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, one daughter Cathy Shea (husband Jerry) of St. Marys, Georgia, Five grandchildren Brad Barnett, Brian Barnett, Brent Barnett, Stephanie Shea-McCloughan and Amanda Stubblefield. Funeral services will be Wednesday December 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Boggs presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Choice of the Donor.
