Virginia Grissom age 95, of Portland passed away Tuesday October 27, 2020 in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare. She was born in Bryant on February 21, 1925 the daughter of John and Anna (Fisher) Schmit. She was married on October 26, 1946 to Joseph Grissom and he died on July 29, 1997. Virginia was a cafeteria manager for Jay School Corp. for over 20 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Surviving are two sons Greg Grissom of Goshen, Indiana and Tom Grissom (wife Jeanne) of Rapid City, South Dakota, Four daughters Cynthia Wallace (husband Kenneth) of Knox, Indiana, Rosemary Smith (husband David) of Ft. Wayne, Margaret Wiley (husband Robert) of Union City, IN and Elaine Gibson (husband Gene) of Goshen, Indiana , Thirteen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday October 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Logsdon presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Friday in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Masses.
