Verda Freed age 91, 3627 West 650 North Bryant passed away Tuesday morning in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare. She was born in Portland December 2, 1924 the daughter of Richard and Marie (Liggett) Downing. She was married in 1947 to Robert Freed and he died in 2007. She was retired from Jay Garment and was a Poling High School graduate.

Surviving are a nephew.
Private family services will be held in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with burial in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Humane Society.
