Truman L. Briggs age 81, of Pennville passed away Saturday June 8, 2019 in Bluffton Regional Hospital. He was born in Jay County September 24, 1937 the son of George and Marah Martha (Lanning) Briggs. He was married June 25, 1965 to Sarah Fugitt who survives. He was retired as a truck driver for LPI. He had also worked at the Portland Police Department, Sheller-Globe, Prudential Insurance Agent and Terry Cycle Sales. He was a 1955 Pennville High School graduate and member of First United Methodist Church in Geneva.

Surviving are his wife Sarah, three sons Chris Briggs (wife Debbie) of Farmland, Buddy Graham of Geneva and David Graham (wife Ginny) of Markle, one daughter Barbara Smith (husband Doug) of Geneva, one sister Ruth Geesaman (husband Dewaine) of Albany, Nine grandchildren and Nine great grandchildren

Funeral services will be held Thursday June 13, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Barry McCune presiding. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Heart Fund.
