Thomas Charles Kennedy, age 84, of Portland passed away on Saturday October 17, 2026 in IU Health Jay County Hospital. Born in Delaware, Ohio on May 10, 1940 he was the son of Charles and Pauline (Nelson) Kennedy. He was married on November 28, 1959 to Linda Louise Howard and she passed away on November 16, 2025. Tom had retired from Teledyne Portland Forge after thirty six years. He was a 1958 Portland High School graduate and attended Ball State University. He graduated from Citizens Police Academy, was active in AA and supported Jay County Athletics. He was also a Phil Dirt and the Dozers Fan.

Surviving are three daughters Charlene Theurer (husband Roger) of Portland, Carol Kennedy of Portland and Christina Kennedy-Nixon of Portland, Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Kennedy and granddaughter Mandy Theurer.
