Steven R. Evans, age 74, of Pennville passed away on Friday June 19, 2026 in Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  He was born in Portland on November 18, 1951 the son of Harry and Mary (Bullock) Evans.  He was married on August 30, 1997 to Jane Horn who survives.

Steve was a 1970 Pennville High School graduate and member of the Bryant Wesleyan Church.  He was a meat cutter for over 30 years.  He started his own deer processing business to support local hunters.  He enjoyed worship music and hosted a men's prayer group.  He was a hard working man of faith, a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving is his wife Jane,  two daughters Kelli Poulimenos (husband Chris) of Tampa, Florida and Kerri Dlugokinski (husband Joe) of Nashville, TN., one son Steven Kyle Evans (wife Katia) of Jupiter, Florida, two brothers Carl Evans of Dunkirk and Jeff Evans (wife Jackie) of Indianapolis, two sisters Betty Daniels (husband Gary) of Pennville and Marilyn Coleman of Mount Airy, NC., Four grandchildren Gabrielle, Gianna, Chase and Brooks , Mother in law Arlene Horn of Bryant and preceded in death by his father in law Bill Horn.

Funeral services will be on Thursday June 25th at 10:00 AM in the Bryant Wesleyan Church with Pastor Paul Van Cise presiding.  Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 -7:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church.  Memorials can be made to the Bryant Wesleyan Church.
