Stephen D. McCollum, age 71, of Pennville passed away on Thursday April 27, 2023 in Columbia, Tennessee after a sudden illness. He was born in Illinois on September 24, 1951 the son of Charles and Reba (Atkins) McCollum. He was married on June 14, 1986 to Carla Rinker who survives. He was a plumber and construction worker for Dunwitty Plumbing. Stephen was a Lewis County Tennessee High School graduate, he was a hard worker and a Pink Floyd fan. He was in the process of building an airplane.

Surviving are his wife Carla, two sons Stephen C. McCollum (Natalie Eley) o Portland and Jeffory A. McCollum (Shellby Sullivan) of Dunkirk, one daughter Jenny McCollum (Garry Gadberry) of Portland, one brother Jeffory D. McCollum of Pennville, one sister Billie J. Steed of Portland, mother in law Mrs. Mark (Janet) Stump of Portland, Seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Greg McCollum and a grandson Garry Gadberry III.

Funeral services will be Friday May 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Memorials can be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.
