Ronnie C. Yates, age 50, of Portland passed away on Saturday October 18, 2025 in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Sydney, Ohio on April 11, 1975 the son of Richard and Judy (Carey) Yates.  He was married in 2019 to Sarah Giltner who survives.  Ronnie was a bass player and loved playing music, he was an avid Colts fan and also liked the Browns.  He was a free spirit and loved his family.

Surviving are his wife Sarah, one daughter Brandy Yates of Portland, three step children Deanna Brenner, John Stofira and Liam Stofira all of Portland, four brothers Richard Yates II of Indian Lake, Ohio, Danny Yates of Muncie, John Yates of Portland and Larry Yates of Muncie, several nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral services.  Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.  Memorials can be directed to the family.
