Richard Stewart, age 89, of Portland passed away on Friday February 27, 2026 in The Waters of Dunkirk.  He was born in Muncie on May 28, 1936 the son of Lester Carl and Mary Irene (Miller) Stewart. He served in the US Airforce. Richard was retired from GM Delco-Remy.   He was an avid hunter and fisherman living in Montana for several years.

Surviving is his children Kevin Brown (wife Joanna) of Markleville, Michael Stewart (wife Rhonda) of Santa Claus, IN., David Stewart (Marilyn Koprowski) of Millford, MI. and Kimberly Smethers (husband Bill) of Noblesville, Five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

There will be funeral services at a later date.  Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Daleville. Memorials can be made to any Veteran organization.  Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences at www.bairdfreeman.com
