Richard P. Newlin age 75, 600 South Meridian Street Portland passed away early Wednesday morning in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare. He was born August 16, 1941 in Wellsville, Ohio the son of Joseph and Ruth (Weakly) Newlin. He was married in 1968 to Judy Parks who survives. He was a truck driver and member of Portland Eagles Lodge.

Surviving are his wife Judy, two sons Richard B. Newlin (wife Marcie) of East Liverpool, Ohio and Scott Newlin (wife Kathy) of Portland, three daughters Ruby Weymouth (husband Paul) of East Liverpool, Ohio, Ronica Shaneyfelt (husband David) of Portland and Kimberly Piercy of Portland, two sisters Mary Crago (husband Raymond) of Wellsville, Ohio and Ruth Lockhart of Texas, two brothers Bob Newlin of East Liverpool, Ohio and Paul Newlin of Louisiana, Five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Melvin, Joe and Charlie.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Memorials can be made to The Hospice Group.
