Richard Myers, age 67, of Osceola, Indiana and former Portland resident passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2026 at his residence.  He was born in Portland on November 27, 1958 the son of David and Aletta (Hutzler) Myers.  Richard had worked for Simpson Industries and ABC Bus Company.  He was a 1977 Jay County High School graduate.  He was an avid sports fan, especially liking the Dallas Cowboys.

He enjoyed going for walks, listening to music and was a loving father and grandfather.  He recently had been baptized.

Surviving is two sons Travis Myers (wife Heather) of Milford, Indiana and Ryne Myers of Osceola, Indiana, one daughter Hailey Wimmer (husband Jeremiah) of Goshen, Indiana, four brothers David Myers Jr. (wife Robin) of Bryant, Michael "Mick" Myers of Portland, Jeff Myers (wife Wendy) of Goshen and James Myers of Goshen, Five grandchildren Aletta, Luke, Arianna, Tanner and Logan.

Funeral services will be Tuesday July 28th at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.  Burial will follow in the Center Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to the funeral home towards funeral expenses.  Online condolences at www.bairdfreeman.com.
