Obituary

Raymond Bishop age 84, of Portland passed away Tuesday evening October 13, 2020 at Columbus Transitional Care in Columbus, Indiana. Ray was born in Portland on September 3, 1936 the son of Dean and Myrtle (Phelps) Bishop. He was married in 1961 to Karen Lamborne who survives. Ray was a 1954 Portland High School graduate and served with the US Army from 1958 – 1960. He retired from Teledyne Portland Forge in 1999, from Wal-Mart in 2018 and he also was a driver for Ken Kunkle Chevrolet. He was a member of the West Walnut Street Church of Christ, Portland Lions Club and American Legion Post #211 in Portland.

Surviving are his wife Karen, one son John Bishop of Portland, two daughters Mary Ann Bryan (husband Kevin) of Woodstock, Illinois and Angie Parrott (husband Ryan) of Muncie, Five grandchildren Lindsay Bishop, Dan Bryan, Katie Bryan, Noah Parrott and Zoey Parrott and two great granddaughters Ali Luna and Benelli Ellis

Funeral services will be Monday October 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Gil Alicea presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Memorials can be given to the West Walnut Street Church of Christ.
