Ramon Macias Alvarado, age 85, of Portland passed away peacefully on Monday April 13, 2026 at his daughter's residence, surrounded by his loving family in his final moments.   He was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico on April 7, 1941 the son of Juan Macias and Ma Encarnacion Alvarado.  Ramon was united in marriage to Ma. Teresa Ramirez and she preceded him in death in 1986.  Ramon dedicated his career as an Agriculture Engineer with Versa SA de CV. He was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a man of strong faith, love, and commitment to his family.

He is lovingly remembered by his children Adriana Macias of Coldwater, Ohio, David Macias (Fiance Yolanda Rivera) of Chicago, Illinois, Ma. Teresa Esquivel (husband Leonardo) of Portland, Blanca E. Macias of Portland, Ma. Marcela Macias (husband Pablo Martinez) of Blackstone, Virginia, Brenda C. Macias (husband Julian Vasquez) of Portland and Ana I. Cervantes (husband Jaime) of Coldwater, Ohio. He is also survived by his sisters Leonor Macias, Mary Macias, Juanita Macias, Rosy Macias and Marina Macias as well as twenty grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Mass of Christian Burial services will be held Saturday April 18th at 11:00 AM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Peter Logsdon presiding.  Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.  Ramon will be missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
