Peggy Burkey age 72, 200 North Park Street Portland passed away Friday in I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born in Union City, Ohio June 4, 1944 the daughter of Cloyd and Norma (Poling) Erwin. She was married February 4, 1992 to Gary Burkey and he died April 26, 1999. She had worked in local nursing homes.
Surviving are a son Wade Lanning of Portland, daughter Wendy Snyder of Aberdine, Ohio, sister Patricia Litmer of Burkettsville. Three grandchildren
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Flint Redwine presiding. Burial will be in the Little Salamonia Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the services. Memorials can be made to the choice of the donor.
