Paul A. Cassel age 53, of rural Dunkirk passed away Wednesday morning January 2, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Portland October 30, 1965 the son of Rod and Cuba (Harker) Cassel. He was a carpenter and had his own construction business. He was a 1984 Jay County High School graduate.

Surviving are his parents Rod and Cuba Cassel of Portland, three sons Rodney Jay Cassel (wife Ashley) of Hartford City, Jonathan Charles Cassel (wife Natalie) of Dunkirk and Nicholas Paul Cassel of Hartford City, one brother Neil Cassel of Hartford City, two sisters Robin Cassel of Bluffton and Dawn Lewellen (companion Shane Overmyer) of Portland, three grandchildren Jaydon, Vada and Noah Cassel, several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be Monday January 7, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Hines presiding with burial to follow. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the choice of the donor.
