Nelle Hampson age 88, 114 Pilgrim Drive Portland passed away early Monday morning in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare in Portland. She was born in Portland February 11, 1929 the daughter of Harold "Cy" and Mina (Rowles) Maxwell. She was married October 18, 1952 to Reginald Hampson who survives. She was retired as a secretery for the Jay School Corporation having worked at several local schools. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Delta Theta Tau Sorority and a 1946 Portland High School graduate.
Surviving are her husband Reginald, One son Bill Hampson (wife Lynn) of Portland, One daughter Lee Hampson of Austin, TX and one grandson Jack
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Jill Howard presiding. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Green Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Hospice Group of Indianapolis or Asbury United Methodist Church.
