Michael Brown age 68, 207 West Race Street Portland passed away Sunday at his residence. He was born in Portland February 20, 1948 the son of Ernest and Ann Mae (Combs) Brown Sr. He was married August 10, 1969 to Sharon Platt who survives. He was a minister and worked at Teledyne Portland Forge and Menards in Muncie and Kokomo. He surved with the U.S. Navy for four years. He was a 1966 Portland High School graduate and member of Faith Evangelical Church in Dunkirk.
Surviving are one son David Brown (wife Joanna) of Fishers, two daughters Jennifer Rupe (husband Michael) of Portland and Christie Timmons (husband Randy) of Ft. Wayne, one sister Helen Rouch (husband Jack) of Portland, eight grandchildren
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. In the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Gockel presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. Memorials can be made to Riley Childrens Hospital.
