Michael Atkinson, age 59, of Portland passed away Tuesday September 28, 2021 at Yorktown Manor. He was born in Portland on October 22, 1961 the son of Jerry and Sharon (Upchurch) Atkinson. He was married to Deborah Greenway on July 4, 1994 and she passed away on May 28, 2015. He had worked for MSSL in Portland. Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting for arrowheads, spending time with his grand kids and NASCAR.

Surviving are one son Michael Atkinson II of Berne, three daughters Ange Best of Portland, Julie Hart (husband Phillip) of Portland and Nicole Butler Best of Portland, his mother Sharon Atkinson of Winchester, three sisters Valerie Lynn Strong (husband Jerry) of Winchester, Vicky Atkinson of Winchester and Paula Bell (husband Kenneth) of Mendon, Ohio, Ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Atkinson and two grandsons.

A memorial gathering and carry in will be held on Saturday October 9 ^th from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Goodrich Park in Winchester. Memorials can be made to your favorite charity.
