Marylyn Sue Garinger age 66 of Portland passed away Sunday September 2, 2018 in IU Health Jay County Hospital. She was born in Jay County August 22, 1952 the daughter of Charles and Arlene (Bost) Hambrock. She was married July 24, 1993 to Steven Garinger who survives. She retired from W&M Manufacturing after 30 years and was a 1970 Redkey High School graduate.

Surviving are her husband Steven, one son Douglas Cox (wife Missy) of Portland, one daughter Amy Vanlue (companion Mark Coppola) of Portland, four step-daughters Shelly Althouse (husband Steve) of Converse, Chandra Garinger (husband Ron) of Fowlerton, Natasha Garinger (husband Nick) of Fairmount and Tricia Myers (husband James) of Albany, one step-son John Cox Jr. (wife Amy E.) of Portland, t hree brothers Robert Hambrock (wife Barbara) of Portland, James Hambrock of Portland, and Rick Hambrock (wife Carrie) of Portland, one sister Cathy Garringer (husband Jim) of Portland, f ifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Doll presiding. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Dunkirk. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society.
