Mary Dean Brackman age 86, 103 Rayburn Drive passed away Wednesday in Miller Merry Manor in Dunkirk. She was born in Jay County July 12, 1930 the daughter of Ancil and Zella (McAfee) Pogue. She was married to Paul Blackford and he died in 1973. She was married on December 12, 1974 to Virgil Brackman who survives. She was retired as a florist having worked for Ludwigs, Gerbers and Art's Plant Shop. She was a member of Immculate Conception Catholic Church and Hopewell Life Ministries.
Surviving are her husband Virgil, One daughter Sue Brandenburg (husband Larry) of Portland, two step-sons Paul Brackman of Portland and Steve Brackman of Surprise, AZ., Daughter in law Debbie Blackford of Tulsa, OK., Four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, She was preceded in death by a son Jeff Blackford.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Herb Hummel presiding. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Memorials can be made to Jay County Cancer Society or Jay County Humane Society.
