Mary Catherine Bergman age 93, 277 West 500 North Bryant passed away Wednesday morning in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare in Portland. She was born in Bryant September 30, 1923 the daughter of Oren and Minnie (Huey) Bergman. She had worked as a cook for Breezeway Restaurant, Nursing Homes and other area restaurants.
Surviving are two daughters Janet Stump (husband Mark) of Portland and Norma Nichols of Bryant, Two Brothers John Bergman of Monroe and Junior Bergman of Taylor, Michigan One sister Irene Morningstar of Geneva, Seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, three step-granddaughters and five step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Richard Hough, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Friday at 3:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Hines presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society.
