Martha Butcher age 87, passed away Saturday May 30, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Jay County on December 29, 1932 the daughter of Earl and Fern (Scott) Noble. She was married in 1952 to Max E. Butcher and he died in 2007. She was a 1952 Portland High School graduate and a homemaker.

Surviving are eight children Wanda K. Downs (husband Roger) of Bryant, Judy Simon (husband Tim) of Lansing, MI., Mark Butcher (wife Jiao) of Pennville, Diane Simmons (husband Alan (deceased) of Portland, Patty Meinerding (husband Jerry) of Bryant, Amy Crabtree (husband Barry) of Bryant, Michael Butcher (wife Debbie) of Bryant and Lori Theurer (husband Reuben) of Portland, three brothers Dale Noble and Harry Noble of Florida and George Noble of Portland, two sisters Mary Baucher of Celina and Esther Sommers of Van Buren, Twenty five grandchildren and thirty nine great grandchildren

Private family services will be held in Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society or Choice of the donor.
