Martha Nell Betz age 91 of Portland passed away Wednesday morning in IU Jay County Hospital. She was born in Portland March 4, 1927 the daughter of Lewis and Iris (Banta) Stone. She was married to William J. Betz and he died in 2004. She was a homemaker and seamstress and had worked at Jay Garment. She was a Madison Twp. High School graduate.

Surviving are a son Charles H. Betz (wife Debi) of Japan and one daughter Diana Trobridge (husband Mike) of Portland, Three grandchildren Brad Trobridge (wife Maria Stahl) of Americus, Ga., Carla K. Trobridge (wife Kathy Boggs) of Leesburg, IN and Teal Stabbing (husband Zac) of Bloomington, IN, one great granddaughter Vanessa Trobridge Bolch of Americus, GA and one great great grandchild Aden Jones of Americus, GA.

Private family services were held in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with burial in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant. Memorials can be made to Jay County Cancer Society.
