Marjorie Harris age 78, 538 Floral Ave. Portland passed away Friday evening in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare in Portland. She was born in Portland August 7, 1938 the daughter of Charles and Mary Etta (Parkinson) Brown. She had worked in food services in the Jay County Hospital since 1965. She was a member of the First Church of Nazarene and 1956 Portland High School graduate.
Surviving are a daughter Rhonda Harris of Portland, Daughter in law Kay Harris of Portland, Four sisters Madonna Uleman of Decatur, Evelyn Wentz of Tampa, FL., Carolyn Brown of Berne and Marirose Mann of Bluffton, two grandchildren Austin and Randy Harris. She was preceded in death by a son John Harris.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Hundley presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery west of Bryant. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
