Larry VanSkyock, age 84, of Portland passed away on Saturday March 18, 2023 at his residence.  He was born in Portland on September 13, 1938 the son of Norval and Ruth (Bush) VanSkyock.  He was married March 3, 1973 to Judith Lewis who survives.

Larry was a 1956 Portland High School graduate and member of Fellowship Baptist Church.  He worked for Naas Foods after graduation. He later started carpentry work and just had his fiftieth year as L. VanSkyock and Sons as his sons joined him after graduation.

Larry is survived by his wife of fifty years Judy, two sons Andy Vanskyock (wife Jenni) of Portland and Laramie VanSkyock (wife Brandy) of Portland, five daughters Kim Vanskyock (wife Cathy) of Kokomo, Monna VanSkyock (wife Sheila) of Selma, Lonna VanSkyock of Muncie, Becky Wellman (husband Rick) of Selma and Alisa Blount of Portland, one sister Jean Laughman (husband Ed) of Winchester, Eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by brothers Dick and Jerry VanSkyock and sister Beverly Weaver.

Funeral services will be Thursday March 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Kelly presiding.  Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.  Memorials can be made to Fellowship Baptist Church.  Online condolences at www.bairdfreeman.com
