Larry A. Bubp USMCR age 73, 809 East Walnut Street Portland passed away Friday evening at his residence. He was born in Portland September 16, 1943 the son of Wendell C. Bubp and Agnes Sortor Bubp-Boyd. He was married February 24, 1961 to Janice Bourdon and she died July 4, 2008. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was in management with Portland Teledyne Forge. He was a member of Jay County Sheriff's Merit Board, American Legion Post #211, Portland Moose Lodge, Portland Eagles Lodge and Rescue 19.
Surviving are his son Larry Bubp II of Indianapolis, Three daughters Lori Latham (husband Donnie) of South Carolina, Lynn Dale (husband Tim) of Pennville and Jennifer Reid (husband Steven) of Boise, Idaho, Three brothers Jeff Boyd (wife Diane) of South Bend, Steve Boyd of South Bend and Stan Boyd of Osceola, IN., Eight grandchildren and Six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday July 12 at 7:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Eads presiding. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Wells Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to Jay County Law Enforcement Youth Camp or Rescue 19.
