Kathy Jean Huey, 70, of Muncie and former Bryant resident passed away on Thursday July 30, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Muncie on April 23, 1956 the daughter of John and Barbara (Gilbert) Stapleton. She was married on September 11, 1976 to Roger Huey and he passed away on February 27, 2015.  Kathy was a homemaker and had worked at the Bryant Truck Stop.  She was a graduate of Muncie Central High School.

Surviving is two sons Bob Harden (wife Jill) of Albany and Chance Huey (wife Caren) of Portland, two daughters Mandy Botts of Marion and Crystal Gordon (husband Bryan) of Winchester, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren,  She was preceded in death by a brother Alan Stapleton.

Funeral services will be Saturday August 8th at 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00-7:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society.
