John Garlinger, age 79, of rural Bryant, Indiana passed away on Friday February 13, 2026 in Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne.  He was born in Jay County on August 25, 1946 the son of Carl and Frona Estella (Ford) Garlinger.  John retired from ABB in Muncie and had served in the US Army.  He was a Bryant High School graduate and member of Bryant Community Center.  Surviving are two brothers Robert Garlinger and Joe Garlinger both of Geneva, several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by a sister Norma Minnich and three brothers Ed Garlinger, Tom Garlinger and Don Garlinger.

Private family services will be held at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to Bryant Community Center.
