Joe Bill Strohl, age 79, of rural Redkey passed away Monday July 25, 2022 in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.  He was born in Jay County on July 7, 1943 the son of Harry and Gertrude (Minch) Strohl.  He was married on May 28, 1984 to Darlene "Dinah" Vorhees and she passed away on August 1, 2021.  Joe was retired from Warner Gear, served in the National Guard , member of VFW in Dunkirk and was a 1961 Portland High School graduate.

Surviving are two sons Mike Strohl of Fort Recovery and Kenneth Hodgson Jr. (wife Rebecca) of Portland, two daughters Rhonda Moore of Portland and Teresa Barnes (husband Timothy) of Dunkirk, two sisters Marilyn Lloyd of Portland and Carolyn Kay Thomas of Gaston, Ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren

Funeral services will be Wednesday August 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Nan Weesner presiding.  Burial will follow in the Lawndale Cemetery in Ridgeville with military graveside services.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 – 1:00PM.  Memorials can be made to Jay County Cancer Society.  Online condolences at www.bairdfreeman.com
