Jill E. Douglass age 59, 505 East North Street Portland passed away Saturday at her residence. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana February 22, 1957 the daughter of John S. and June (Everly) Burns. She was married November 13, 1976 to Earl Douglass Jr. and he died December 16, 2014. She was an LPN geriatric nurse having worked at many places including Persimmon Ridge in Portland. She was a 1975 Owen Valley High School graduate, 1976 Ivy Tech graduate, member and treasurer of Psi Iota Xi sorority, 4-H Leader, had attended First Presbyterian Church and more recently Zion Lutheran Church both in Portland and taught Sunday school.
Surviving are two daughters Magan Douglass of Fort Wayne and Laura Hough (husband Kris) of Bryant, one brother John J. Burns of Lizton, IN., four sisters Judith Burns of Indianapolis, Joanne Roudebush of Ashville, N.C., Janett Lowes of Indianapolis and Jane Ball of Bloomington, Four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. In the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Strietelmeier presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. And Wednesday prior to the services. In lieu of flowers or gifts the family would like memorials to go to Persimmon Ridge Activities Dept., State of the Heart Hospice or Zion Lutheran Church.
