Jesse E. Yaney age 77, of rural Bryant passed away Sunday May 3, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Portland on January 29, 1943 the son of Virgil and Edith (Myers) Yancey. He was married October 31, 1970 to Judy Chowning who survives. He was retired as a truck driver and served in the US Army. He was a member of VFW 6751 in Geneva, Portland American Legion and Portland Moose Lodge.

Surviving are his wife Judy, two sons Jesse Yaney Jr. (wife Sandy) of Muncie and Brian Yaney (wife Cindy) of Muncie, three daughters Anita Lamb (husband Donald) of Van Buren, IN, Kim Ayers (husband Brent) of Bryant and Karla Rowles of Portland, four sisters Marcella Steveson of Portland, Janace Schmidt (husband Evan) of Geneva, Judy Bruns (husband Jerry) of Bryant and Charlene Duncan (husband Garry) of Portland. Fourteen grandchildren and thirty five great grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Morgan presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Heart Fund.
