Jerry L. Bell Jr., age 57, of Portland passed away Tuesday May 11, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Hartford City, Indiana on July 19, 1963 the son of Jerry and Carolyn (Wyatt) Bell Sr. He was married on June 3, 1989 to Krystal Jackson who survives. He graduated from Jay County High School in 1982 and was retired from Berne Security after thirty years. He also worked at Second Chance Ministries with recovering addicts helping them with the road to recovery.

Surviving are his wife Krystal, one son Zachary Bell (wife Jessica) of Urbana, Illinois, his mother Carolyn Bell of Portland, one brother Timmie Bell of Portland, one sister Deanna Cline (husband Trent) of Portland, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Corina Boice and his father Jerry Bell Sr.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday May 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor David Keen presiding. The family will receive guests from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Memorials can be made to Second Chance Ministries
