Jeff Wright age 73 , 1133 Wayside Place Portland passed away Tuesday at his residence. He was born in Randolph County October 4, 1943 the son of Claude and Maxine (Kiser) Wright. He was married February 17, 1998 to Teresa Pormen who survives. He retired in 2007 from Teledyne Portland Forge, served with the US Navy from 1964-1966 and was a 1961 Saratoga High School graduate. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, American Legion, Portland Eagles Lodge, Arch Bridge Kroozers and was a guitarist with several local bands including Del Rio and Touch of Country. He also had played with the Savannah Jack Band.
Surviving are his wife Teresa, one daughter Nicole Wright of Indianapolis and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 PM in the Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Hugh Kelly presiding. Burial will follow in the Reitenour Cemetery with military graveside rites by the American Legion. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
