Janice Sue Stucky, age 82, of Portland passed away on Thursday January 15, 2025 in Persimmon Ridge Healthcare.  She was born in Portland on October 31, 1942 the daughter of Oren and Flora Isabelle (Wolfe) Stucky.  Janice Sue was retired as an elementary school teacher at Westlawn Elementary after thirty-five years.  She was a member of the Portland Friends Church, Retired Teachers Association, American Association of University Women, Dunkirk BPW/Career Women, Redkey Delta Theta Tau, Do a Lot Demonstration Club, Jay County Historical Society, Jay County Hospital Aux., Genealogical Society, 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award winner and earned her bachelors and master degrees from Ball State University.

Surviving are several cousins.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday  March 1st at 1:00 PM in the Portland Friends Church.  Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.  Memorials can be made to Portland Friends Church or Jay County Historical Society.
