Janice R. Bray, age 86, of Portland passed away on April 22, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Portland on May 14, 1939 the daughter of Raymond Blackford and Barbara (Stroble) Blackford. She was married on January 26, 1958 to Clyde Bray who survives. Janice was a receptionist for Dr. Joe Vormohr, a 1957 Portland High School graduate, a member of the West Walnut church, Cincinnatus League, Friends of the Library, and Psi Iota Xi. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, gardening, baking, and playing with her grandkids.

Surviving is her husband Clyde, two sons Richard Bray (Brenda) of Harrisville, Michigan and Tim Bray (Sheila) of Portland, 4 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Jodi Kriss, and brothers Paul, Ralph, Gary, and Keith Blackford, and a sister Mary Dailey

Funeral services will be on Saturday April 25th at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Gil Alicea presiding.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland.  Memorials can be made to West Walnut Church and Heart to Heart Hospice.
