James R. Zimmerman age 67 of Portland passed away at his residence Friday morning. He was born in Portland April 17, 1951 the son of Blaine and Virginia May (Loyd) Zimmerman. He was married April 11, 1987 to Rachel Seelnacht who survives. He was retired from Teledyne Portland Forge, member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, VFW in Fort Recovery and 1969 Portland High School graduate.

Surviving are his wife Rachel, his father Blaine Zimmerman of Portland, one daughter Tammy Gabossi (husband John) of Canton Michigan, two sisters Carol Gates and Susan Knight both of Portland, grandchildren Tiffany and Travis Barton, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 PM in the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Abner presiding. Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery. Family will receive guests from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society, Ft. Recovery VFW or Jay County Humane Society.
