James L. Godfrey age 77 of Swiss Village in Berne and former Portland resident passed away Thursday morning in Adams County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Portland July 25, 1941 the son of Leland and Ruth (Banta) Godfrey. He had worked for Bearcreek Farms.

Surviving are several cousins.

Funeral services will be Tuesday September 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freema Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Wertenberger presiding. Burial will be in the Green Park Cemetery. Family will receive guests from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Swiss Village Samaritan Endowment Fund.
