James A. Burk, age 75, of Portland passed away Saturday April 9, 2022 at his residence. Born in Portland on July 30, 1946 he was the son of Ralph and Martha (Pauling) Burk. He was married on March 10, 1968 to Sue Balle who survives. Jim was retired from Teledyne Portland Forge, served in the US Marine Corp. in Vietnam and was a 1965 Portland High School graduate. He was a member of American Legion Post #211 and Zion Lutheran Church. Jim loved riding his bicycle, sitting on his front porch, spending time with family and friends and going to Florida.

Surviving are his wife Sue, one son Jeff Burk (wife Terri) of Portland, one brother Richard Burk of Fort Wayne, one sister Patricia Burk of Portland and three grandchildren Erik Ridgway (wife Destinee), Marcie Burk (wife Arika) and Adam Burk (fiance Kiersten Badders).  He was preceded in death by a son James Michael Burk.

Funeral services will be Thursday April 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Borders presiding. Burial will military graveside rites by American Legion Post #211 will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM.
