Jackie D. Guntle age 68, 1451 West 550 South Portland passed away Tuesday in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Winchester November 5, 1948 the daughter of Richard and Veda (Nelson) Jones. She was a graduate of Farmland High School. She was married November 22, 1967 to Richard Guntle and he died November 16, 2015. She was a QMA having worked for Chalet Village in Berne, Persimmon Ridge in Portland and also W &M Manufacturing.
Surviving are six sons Doug Guntle (wife Becky) of Portland, Todd Guntle of Decatur, Rodney Guntle of Tennessee, Chad Guntle of Geneva, Mitchel Guntle of Illinois and Richard Guntle (wife Jodi) of Decatur, two daughters Lisa Johnson (husband Ken) of Muncie and Penny Price (husband Les) of Montpelier, one brother Jan Jones of Crystal Lake, Fl., and one sister Patsy Hensley of LaGrange, Kentucky, Eighteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman with Pastor Mark Hinshaw presiding. Burial will follow in the Wells Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society.
