Hurley G. Bookout, age 86, of Warren , Indiana passed away on Sunday September 11, 2022 in Heritage Pointe of Warren.  He was born in Pennville on November 7, 1935 the son of Cleo and Kathleen (LeFavour) Bookout.  He was married on December 18, 1987 to Karen Ramsey who survives.  He served in the US Airforce as a Crypto Operator.  He was a member of the American Legion, 1954 Portland High School graduate and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.  He was retired from Rea Magnet Wire in Fort Wayne.

Surviving are one son Craig Bookout (wife Tammy) of Fort Wayne, one daughter Julie Moore (husband Gary) of Darden prairie, Missouri, Three step sons Ken Thompson of Florida, Keith Hobbs of Elwood and Kyle Hobbs of Elwood,  one brother Darl Bookout (wife Donna) of Muncie, one sister Vecil Heniser of Dunkirk and three grandchildren Michaela Limur, Colin Bookout and Taylor Bookout, two step-grandchildren Samantha Thompson and Phillip Thompson  He was preceded in death by a son Clint Bookout and step son Kevin Thompson

Graveside services will be Friday September 16, 2022  in the Green Park Cemetery with military graveside services following a visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.  Memorials can be made to Jay County Cancer Society or Korean War Memorial.  Online condolences at www.bairdfreeman.com
