Herbert May age 70, 768 South 100 East Portland passed away Friday morning at his residence. He was born in Portland February 26, 1946 the son of Velda and Mary (Wheeler) May. He was married August 15, 1984 to Margie Ontrop who survives. He had worked at Teledyne Portland Forge and did construction work. He was a 1964 Madison High School graduate.

Surviving are his wife Margie, one son Anthony May (wife Amanda) of Portland, three daughters Patricia Swanagan (husband Kerry) of Winchester, Michelle Miller (husband Kile) of Redkey and Brenda Funk (husband Shaun) of Monroe, one sister Janet Schaffer (husband Bill) of Portland, Thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. In the Salamonia Church of Christ Church with Pastor Bruce Phillips presiding. Baurial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Salamonia Church of Christ Church.
