Gerald W. Boxell age 88, 614 South 200 West Portland passed away Saturday at his residence. He was born in Portland May 12, 1928 the son of F. Glen and Garnett (Bookout) Boxell. He was married February 3, 1950 to Marjorie Joan Stults and she died September 15, 1991. He was retired as a Federal Meat Inspector with the USDA. He was a US Army Korean Conflict veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post #211, Jay Lodge #87 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Shrine, Demolay, Gold Wing Road Riders Association, graduate of Pennville High School and attended Fellowship Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son David Boxell (wife Becky) of Union City, IN., one daughter Terry Werst (husband Kevin) of Monroe, IN., Daughter in Law Mary Boxell of Portland, one brother Melvin Boxell (wife Val) of Palistine, TX., one sister Janice Martin (husband Charlie) of Dennison, TX., Seven grandchildren, six step grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with his daughter Terry Werst presiding. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville with military rites by American Legion Post #211. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM with Masonic Services at 7:00 PM by Jay Lodge #87 F&AM. Memorials can be made to Family Life Care Hospice.
