Gary L. "Puppy" Ireland age 80, of Portland passed away Wednesday December 25, 2019 in Randolph Nursing Home in Winchester. He was born in Winchester September 6, 1939 the son of Willard and June (Frasher) Ireland. He was married March 17, 1995 to Sarah Hartnagel who survives. He was retired from ABB (formerly Westinghouse) and was a US Navy Veteran. He was a 1957 Portland High School graduate, member of American Legion, V.F.W., Arch Bridge Kroozers, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, Masonic Lodge in Winchester and he was an avid golfer.

Surviving are his wife Sarah, Two sons Vince Ireland of Portland and David Ireland of Portland, Four daughters Deb Singleton (husband Jeff) of Indianapolis, Kathy Esparza (husband Dave) of Portland, Denise Morgan (husband Dave) of Portland and Cindy Negele of Portland, One sister Gail Compton of Portland, Two nephews Curt Comptom of Portland and Troy Comptom of Albany, Twelve grandchildren and Twenty great-grandchildren.

Private Family Services will be held in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the choice of the donor
