Gary Brown age 73, 1616 North Meridian Street Portland owner of the Brown Bowl in Portland passed away early Monday. He was born November 3, 1942 in Moorehead, Ky the son of Pearl and Greta (Walsh) Brown. He served in the U.S. Airforce and was a member of Builders Lodge #60 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and American Legion. He was a 1960 Redkey High School graduate and attended Ft. Wayne Business College. He was owner and operator of the Brown Bowl Bowling Lanes for over thirty three years.
Surviving are his son Gary Brown Jr of Florissant, MO., one daughter Kirsten Brown of Muncie, his companion Paula Lennertz of Portland, one brother Roger Brown of Bradenton, FL., and two sister Caroline Rayburn of Redkey and Linda Smith of Muncie, Five grandchildren
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. In the Brown Bowl with Pastor Larry Eads officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory in Muncie. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the Brown Bowl. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society, or State of the Heart Hospice
