Edward J. Bailey age 80, 208 West Penn Street Portland passed away Saturday evening the Jay County Hospital. He was born in Jay County January 14, 1936 the son of Jess and Ethel Mae (Cox) Bailey. He was married July 12, 1952 to Emma Caroline Rinker and she survives. He was a retired longtime truck driver having driven for Jullerat Trucking, Same Day Trucking and Lil Leasing. He was a member of the Portland Moose Lodge and Portland Eagles Lodge.
Surviving are are his wife Caroline, three sons Eddie Lee Bailey of Portland, Fredrick E. Bailey of Portland and Michael Stephen Bailey of Portland, one daughter Carol Lynn Steen of Berne, Six grandchildren and Twenty Three Great grandchildren
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Brian Bailey presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Viewing will be from 12:00 – 2:00 on Wednesday. Memorials can be made to Jay County Cancer Society.
