Douglas R. Hammers, age 64, of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Saturday January 11, 2025 at his home.  He was born in Portland on July 7, 1960 the so of Rex and Phyllis (French) Hammers.  He was married on December 10, 1983 to Tonya Dunlavy who survives.  Doug was retired from Motorola after thirty-five years.  He was a 1978 Jay County High School graduate, enjoyed yard work, camping and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving is his wife Tonya, mother Phyllis Hammers of Portland, daughter Jennifer Bjurstrom (husband Robert) of Saginaw, Michigan, in laws Monte and Marada Dulavy of Portland, sister Lisa Price (husband Bill) of Portland and two grandchildren Alexandra and Taylor, nephews Corey Price (wife Tavia) and Matthew Price.

Funeral services will be Wednesday January 15th at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lawndale Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.  Memorials can be made to the choice of the donor.
