Donald L. Enis, 66, passed away peacefully at his residence in Portland, IN on March 25, 2025. He was born on December 27, 1958 in Randolph County and was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family and those he loved.
Don spent over 20 years working at Corning Glass in Greenville, OH until its closure and later dedicated another 20 years to Portland Forge before retiring in 2021. Outside of work he had a deep passion for basketball – whether playing in Gus Mackers, school courts with his friends and family, or cheering on his favorite teams. He also enjoyed watching football and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years Denise C. Enis, his parents Louis C. Enis, and Donna J. Newell, and his brother Rick Enis.
Don leaves behind his daughters Kisha L. Enis and Shana R. Enis, both of Portland, IN. Grandchildren, Gavriella Lopez, Travian Lopez, Jaylen Price, and Jory Phillips. He is also survived by his sisters Karen Burden, Peggy Burton, and Patricia Montgomery, his brother Daniel Enis, Sister-In-Laws Darla Miller and Barb Foster, Brother-In-Laws Ronnie Burden, Carnell Burton, Willie Montgomery, David Foster, and Danny Foster, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Per Don's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. He will be cremated and reunited with his wife, as he always wanted.
A devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and dear friend. Don's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, forever joined with the love of his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital
