Dick W. Glassford age 86, of Portland passed away Monday morning January 25, 2021 at his residence. Dick was born in Portland on April 21, 1934 the son of Gerald W. and Phyllis I. (McKibben) Glassford. He was married on December 24, 1954 to Ruth L. Fifer who survives. He was retired from Delco Battery in Muncie in 1982 after thiry one years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years Ruth, one son Bruce A. Glassford (wife Olivia) of Los Bantos, CA., one daughter Linda K. Wright of Portland, Four grandchildren, Nine great grandchildren, Three step-grandchildren and Six step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Cindy Glassford.

Funeral services will be Saturday January 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Dave McClellan presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.  Masks will be required to attend. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
