Danny Hodge, age 72, of rural Portland passed away on Wednesday February 18, 2026 in the IU Jay County Hospital.  He was born in Portland on July 5, 1953 the son of Charles and Martha (Brown) Hodge.  He was married in 1980 to Linda Hicks who survives.  Danny had worked for Strick in Monroe and B&B Powder coating in Portland.  He enjoyed fishing, arrow head collecting, hiking and cutting wood.

Surviving is his wife Linda, daughter Lindsey Wiening, son Nathan Hodge, sister Theresa Stein (husband Fred), brother Jeff Hodge, brother in law Bill Hardesty and six grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother Russ Hodge and sister Mary Hardesty.

He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends. Remember him in your own special way.

There will be no funeral services.  Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.  Memorials can be made to the choice of the donor.
