Danny R. "Dan" Cox, age 86, of Angola and formerly of Portland, Indiana passed away on Sunday April 2, 2023 in Cedars Retiremnent Center in Leo.  He was born in Fort Wayne on November 25, 1936 the son of Burl and Evelyn (Barge) Cox.  He was married on October 6, 1983 to Linda Ferguson and she passed on July 12, 2016.  Dan was retired from International Harvester after forty years.  He was a US Marine Corp veteran and member of American Legion Post #211 in Portland.

Surviving are three3 sons Robert Cox of Freemont, Indiana, Richard Cox of Melbourne, Florida and Scott Cox of Fort Wayne, three daughters Renee Klink of Angola, Rhonda Cox of Orlando, Florida and Raelynn Cox of Angola, Three step-sons Michael Bibler of Kearney, Nebraska, Peter Bibler of Bejing, China and Matthew Bibler of Niles, Michigan, one brother Jerry Cox of Fort Wayne, Two sisters Melody Pucher of  Fort Wayne and Cindy Reneau of Fort Wayne, Thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother David Cox and a sister Carol Fry.

Graveside services will be Saturday May 13, 2023 at noon in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland with military rites by American Legion Post #211. The Baird-Freeman Funeral Home 221 North Meridian Portland, Indiana are handling the arrangements. Online condolences at www.bairdfreeman.com
